About us
From Cadet to Project Manager — and Now Helping the Next Generation
I know exactly what it feels like to be ambitious, eager, and still overlooked. That’s why I created Pathway Group Australia — to help cadets and graduates bridge the gap between university and the site.
How It Started
In 2015, I began my Construction Management degree and applied for over 50 cadet roles. Only one builder gave me an interview — and I didn’t get the job as they were looking for someone with experience. I was asked tough questions like:
“Why should we hire you?”
“Do you know what you’ll be doing as part of your role?”
“What relevant skills and experience do you have?”
At 22, I had labouring and pool-building experience, but nothing that translated to real construction management skills. That rejection stuck with me — because it’s the same challenge a majority face entering the industry

Persistence Pays Off
Through a friend’s connection, I was introduced to a Builder. They weren’t hiring cadets at the time, but I stayed in touch every fortnight until an opportunity opened up. By halfway through my first year at uni, I managed to land a cadetship.
From there:
I’ve since delivered projects with some of Sydney’s top builders — Hutchinson Builders and Kane Construction among them.
From there:
- 2.5 years → Contracts Administrator
- +3 years → Ready for Project Manager
- Late 2021 → Managing projects worth $70M+

From Projects to People
My proudest moments haven’t been the size of the projects I’ve managed — but the cadets I’ve mentored. Many started out feeling as lost as I once did, but went on to become Contract Administrators, Site Engineers, and even business owners.
That’s why I started Pathway Group Australia: to give cadets and graduates a faster, smarter way to become job-ready, with real skills, practical tools, and direct links to industry.

Your Pathway to a Career in Construction Management
We believe every cadet deserves:
- Training that matters — practical modules, not just theory.
- Real deliverables — registers, checklists, and plans you’ll actually use.
- Career outcomes — connections to NSW builders who need job-ready talent.
